Bellrope adjustment round 6

The ropes of the front five bells have been re-adjusted to put the bottom of each sally ~65″ from the floor when set at hand, and the end of the tai ~76″ from the floor when set at back.

  • The treble and 2 have been adjusted slightly since last week.
  • The 3’s sally is 2″ lower, and its tail, formerly very short, is 6″ longer.
  • The 4’s sally is 2″ lower, and its tail, formerly very long, is 5¼” shorter.
  • The 5’s sally is 6″ lower, and its tail is 1″ longer.

The lowest tuck on the 2’s rope has been removed.

This beautiful dry weather is excellent for working on the ropes, which expand and get tight in damp weather, so the remaining ropes will be adjusted as opportunities arise.
