Seven ringers: Anne, Judy, Ken, Marguerite, Pamela, Thomas, and serendipitous visitor Harry from Christ Church, Raleigh, NC. We raised 123456.
Harry is in town for a conference, staying at a nearby hotel. He heard the bells and followed the sound.
- Rounds and Call Changes on four, then five. Thomas called the bells into Queens and then toward Back Rounds before standing the band.
- Plain Hunt on Four with tenor behind. We have been waiting to have five senior ringers, four to ring around Anne and one to stand behind while she worked on Plain Hunt. She began Plain Hunt on Two and then Three at the 2013Feb06We practice, then after a long stretch during which we never had enough ringers to work on it again, rang it on Seven during the Visitors Weekend on 2013Apr12Fr and 2013Apr13Sa. Tonight she rang the 4 with Thomas standing behind, and did Plain Hunt on Four splendidly. When visitor Harry arrived we put him on the six and rang Plain Hunt on Four with two covers.
- Anne ambitiously asked for Plain Hunt on Five with tenor behind, which of course we did and it also went splendidly.
- Rang down in peal.
This was the best ringing from the local band I have seen in the 18 months I’ve been here. I’m quite proud of the progress we’ve made.
