Appreciation Sunday: 27Sep2015

On the eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost “Volunteer Recognition and Awards Presentation” was part of the 10am service, and twelve Trinity Bell Ringers were presented with lapel pins in appreciation.  Prior to the service we had a nice turnout of 6 ringers who did a great job with call changes to the delight of our latest recruit, Robert Stambough, who is looking forward to starting lessons.

Ringing with Ross: 8/30+9/1, 2015

It was our pleasure to welcome Ross Finbow to the Trinity Bell Tower recently.  Ross has rung in Miami during past peal weekends from DC and is moving back home to the UK from Pittsburgh this month, making a pit stop in Miami for a few days. Ross joined the band for Sunday service and Tuesday practice so we were able to take full advantage of his counsel, as he is known to be one of the best and most experienced instructors in North America.

Thank you Ross for sharing your talents with us.  On Tuesday we had 6 ringers: Bobbie, Jorge, Marguerite (yay!), Judy, Jody and Ken!  Jorge was a champ getting the tenor up into position and Ross was very patient with our slow but steady skill sets.  As a exercise in “hearing your bell” he had us ring backwards, facing away from the group!  Interesting concept to say the least.  We also worked on plain hunt on 5 and 6 for Jody and Jorge to get back into the groove.
